Margaret H. Oliver (Meg)
Personal Profile
After serving as an assistant state’s attorney in Baltimore County, Maryland, and working in a law firm focused on family law, Margaret H. Oliver founded Margaret H. Oliver, LLC. After heading her own law firm for nearly 20 years, Meg retired and now focuses her practice entirely on mediation of family issues including separation/divorce, child custody/visitation, spousal support and child support. Meg works with families of all configurations.
Ms. Oliver works with clients all over Maryland through Zoom mediation.

Meg graduated from The College of Wooster in 1977 with a Bachelor of Music and continued her education at the Eastman School of Music/University of Rochester where she received her Performer’s Certificate and Master of Music degree. Meg started a family of her own and taught music for several years before deciding to pursue a career in the law. In 1997, she graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law, magna cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree.
With nearly 25 years in the legal community, Meg uses her knowledge and experience to help parties through the stress that comes with a family matter. As a mediator, Meg assists parties through what can be a very difficult time, working to find a resolution that looks towards the future. Meg's training in mediation, settlement negotiations and collaborative law, enable her to assist parties in creating resolutions that work for the family as it changes.
While Meg is an attorney with extensive experience in family law, as a mediator she cannot give legal advice. Parties are encouraged to speak with their own attorney regarding any legal questions they may have.
In her free time, Meg can be found enjoying time with family, kayaking on the Patapsco River, or continuing her love of music as a church musician.
